Vipnet Integrates Bulb DACS for IP Management and Provisioning

Bulb Technologies has announced today that Vipnet, the Croatian operator which is part of the Telekom Austria Group and a strategic partner of Vodafone, has integrated Bulb’s DACS (DHCP Auto Configuration System) as the central provisioning and management solution addressing non TR-069 terminal equipment in its fixed access network.

This announcement comes at a critical time as Vipnet begins rolling out its complete 5-play service which includes Vip TV, mobile and fixed telephony, as well as mobile and fixed Internet.

“Auto configuration isn’t about letting the system set up a network and then walking away,” commented Neven Stipcevic, CTO of Bulb. “A sophisticated solution such as Bulb’s will focus on service lifecycle. It not only addresses provisioning, but also takes into account many different variables as a basis for proactive and reactive analysis, quality assurance and trouble resolution. DACS derives essential per subscriber information from the network layer to support mentioned processes.”

Bulb’s DACS is a centralized CPE device provisioning platform that helps to manage the allocation of IP addresses and configure CPE devices. It is based on a telecom-grade DHCP management service and supports all relevant standards, technologies and the provisioning of various CPEs. Using DACS eliminates the need for manual generation of service-specific configuration files, and it dynamically generates device configuration files to help with activating converged broadband services.
